Self-Esteem

We met in our thoughts and in the words spoken to us over the years

You were built with a firm foundation of bricks and cement

Inspired, uplifted, created in love, in peace, in bliss

Yet here you are slowly crumbling.

The home I built of you in dire need of repair

There was once windows to your heart — now boarded

Music was flowing through your home’s halls

Bricks now being carried away to build the homes of another

Self-Esteem.

What broke you?

How did we let your structure – your home – fall in such disarray?

But I have the skills to rebuild.

Those broken windows – they are now stained glass

The stolen bricks and those crumbling walls, they were meant to come down so that a castle could be built in its place.

For we still have our strong foundation on which to build.

I am here to love you.

I have returned hammer in hand to rebuild you.

To rebuild us.

We have merely weathered storms but on our strong foundation we will build.
