Anxious

We met in my chest

A small pang at first

Which became a throbbing wound

The feeling of eyes watching, of judgment ensuing

Uncontrollable breathe

And here you are

Sitting inside me

Waiting in the dark and shadows

Emerging at any sign of uncertainty

Rearing your ugly head at any sign of fear

Anxiety.

Where do you come from and why have you taken up residence in my body?

Give me back my inner peace, my pleasant dreams, my blissful mind.

For uncertainty should not be synonymous with fear.

The feelings you incite within me:

Racing thoughts, Racing heart

You are not anxiety.

You are excitement.

You are possibility.

Farewell — for I have reclaimed my mind’s tranquility

My thoughts no longer dictated by you

My decisions created by hope and serenity as opposed to the fear you made me feel

There is now possibility ahead
